Remote Key Problem

I have recently bought a Gal 2.3 GLX (Private). It came with a single remote key. Today I saw the red light on the Key was blinking continously. What does this mean ? Is it the battery or some coding error ?

 

Secondly I want to get a duplicate key made, called up Ford dealer and they are qouting

have you tried contacting the last owners to see if they have found the lost key?other wise try ebay for a remote key blank,then try and find a locksmith who can cut it,im sure some other member on here will be able to tell you more about this though,good luck.

Thought there is a way of programing a new or used remote by turning the key a certain number of times in a certain period of time. I ve got a new one on way off ebay anyone got the info?

Not on your model. If you have the 4 digit key-code that came with the car when new then someone with VAG-COM can easily do the job though.

Once you have 2 coded keys you can code further keys yourself using the 3 turns method.
